Champion in Flight

Champion in Flight by Tyrean Martinson

I enjoyed the first book and was therefore hopeful the second would be just as good.

This is not one of those intense Fantasy stories. Not like Lord of the Rings. It is more on the level with Narnia. Fun, a little lighter, but with deep, hidden messages.

It is a year after a battle that Clara fought in and had her sword broken. She is now determined to fix it, as it was given to her by the Lord to help her serve the people. There is only one problem, Clara is angry and wants revenge over the death of her friends and parents. She sets out on her quest, knowing she has to deal with the anger in her heart before she can be the Champion she has been called to be.

There is also a new character, a cursed prince named Laim. (Like Laim. Laim is cool.) Laim is on his own quest, but when his path crosses Clara's....well, well they weren't together enough for my liking. I am hoping they get to spend more time together in book three because they seem like they will be a lot of fun if they have to work together.

I really don't know what to say about this book. It is so familiar while being so unique. It is really just a lot of fun to read.

After I finished it I wanted to go back and read book one again because I had forgotten how much I missed spending time with Clara.

Then there was the ending. The wonderful ending which left me looking just like this.

Cliff hangers, my friends. Cliff hangers.

Anyways. You can find Tyrean's blog HERE!!!

  1. Thanks for your review, Jack!!! Sorry about the cliff-hangers . . . it was something I struggled with, and it actually started out worse like that in the first draft. :D Hope you mostly enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!
